Back in London for last hurrah
After getting up at 5.00 am we left Julie's at 6.00 am and a nervous drive to Milan. Italian drivers and roads make for interesting pairing.
Asti outlookRoads are narrow which apparently means large trucks should use them, and the the drivers believe speed limits are only suggestions with crazy overtaking manoeuvres.
Combined with roundabouts every kilometre or so meant I was on high alert for the 2 hours.
Got the car and us to airport in one piece then fumbled our way through Easyjet baggage check in and then into terminal.
If you are ever in Milan do not think duty free is an option. More expensive than normal shopping! Another hurdle through border control, and treated like cattle all the passengers were milled into small area then waited in sun on tarmac to board.
Finally on board and flight to Gatwick, then train home made for 9 hours of travel.
Exhausted we showered and were to meet Meghan and Leann for dinner. Our day of transport issues continued and Meaghan could not make it as all trains were cancelled from Kent!
We opted for easy evening at Dog and Bell for dinner. Worknight for Leann so home early and both Fi and I needed the sleep.
Meeting with people this afternoon for last night in Blighty.
