A few haunts visited
Leaving the girls aat home I travelled to Lewisham to get some swimmers for the upcoming Italian trip.
Sunny days in LewishamUpon my return Fi and I made our way to Ritchards via 3 pubs we wanted to visit. We took the train to Rotherhithe and walked past the Brunel museum where the first tunnel under the Thames was made.
First stop was The Mayflower which dates back to 17th century. In 1620 The Mayflower set off from here on way to Plymouth and on to America.
The MayflowerMoving on we jumped back on train to cross river to Wapping. The area is quite glamorous these days with the old warehouses renovated into apartments.
Another old pub on the river is there. The Prospect of Whitby is even older and dates back to circa 1520!
It also has a great history and still boasts a gallows over the water where pirates were hung.
Another train trip found us at South Woodford where we rested at the Railway Bell awaiting Ritchard to finish work.
Ritchards lovely garden areaGreat night at Ritchards and awoke to head back to Deptford. A few things to do here before we head off to stay at Gatwick airport in preparation for our early flight to Milan tomorrow.
