Spitalfields Market and culture

After a lazy start Fi and I jumped on central line from South Woodford to Liverpool Street. Arriving there we had a small walk, was actually brisk but that was due to howling wind!

Past the Spitalfields markets on to Commercial Street to see some culture.

Outside Spitalfields

Up the street was the 18th century Christ Church Spitalfields which dominates.

Continuing on we went to see an amazing Van Gogh immersive exhibition. No actual real paintings, however, was a storyline of his life with copies of all the major works.

The lighting displays and the installations of his rooms and alcoves brought it all to life.

Vincent

The last part was a huge room with lighting displays on all walls, floor and ceiling accompanied by haunting music.

It scrolled through his paintings in absolute grandeur and deck chairs provided had people just mesmerised for however long you wanted to stay.

Cultured up we returned to Spitalfields where we had a late lunch and whilst Fi explored the markets, which are really good, I had a refreshment.

From there we walked back, did I say how cold it was? Anyway next to Liverpool Street station is a place called Eaterly which is a huge shop/restaurants showcasing Italian food.

Had markets upstairs for fresh foods and pasta, a number of eateries and wine. Could spend a huge amount of time there.

In any case we headed back towards Ritchards and enjoyed a relax at the Railway Bell across from the station.

Made it home and Ritchard had been working from home all day.
We chatted and had dinner, and now up for Eurovision day.
