More of the Great War and Reims

Like much of Northern France you do not have to travel far to find reminders of WW1.

Donny and I went on a short drive  and just outside Cormicy is a French war cemetery which holds over 14,000 souls!

A short way up another road was a monument for 2,000 Russian expeditionary forces. Impossible to imagine the losses in only a small part of Western Front.

Upon our return we joined with Ian and Bev and made the short drive to see Reims. Public holiday and everything shut. One coffee shop open was thriving.

A quick walk around gave me lay of land as hope to visit properly. We then headed back to Chateau.

Boys had found an old Webber which they cleaned up and charcoal found was fired up. Roll of pork and another of chicken were cooked beautifully.

Our feast

Salads and breads completed the meal, so we dined al fresco and as is our norm headed inside at 11.00.

Golfers have left and await cleaners. Today beckons.
