A bevy of venues
Fi and I made our way to Deptford to meet up with Sian at the cafe. Owen arrived and took us downstairs to where they are in process of building a new venue!
Bold undertaking and the space they have is huge running under 3 shops. They previously had a small space in an arch where they ran a bar and community radio.
AAJA in the making
In this larger space they are constructing 2 studios, a couple of bar areas and a beer garden. A fair bit to do yet but hats off to the enterprise.
After seeing work in progress we went with Sian to the site they are currently using next to The Bird's Nest pub.
It is a converted double decker bus and roofed area which is where AAJA (the station and bar name) operates.
The snake pitChat there then Fi and I went on to Greenwich to visit her favourite butcher 'Drings' to purchase lamb cutlets for a special meal. That will be tonight. A few other stops including refreshment break got us home early afternoon.
Fi, Leann, Scott and Leah were off to ABBA the experience which is a hologram show of the Super Swedes.
I went to the Morden Arms where I caught up with people and stayed for the band. Jazzy with a great singer.
Made my way home and beat the girls return by about 20 minutes. We chatted as they regaled how good the experience was. No photos allowed but their description was enough.
Managed bed around 12.30 and believe the girls stayed up a couple more hours.
Done for now.
