Sunshine in Paddington

Finally the weather has warmed up in time for us to meet up with friends in Paddington.

Having left Deptford we trained to the famous Paddington station where we were welcomed with blue skies.

A short walk from there past the canals of Little Venice in blazing Sunshine seemed surreal after the last week or so.

Canal boats and restaurants on water

Through the development, now finished, things looked a lot different from my last visit. Went to the Pergola which seems like a pop up bar between railway tracks and motorway, but has been around for years.

Large area outside and the locals were taking advantage of the sun. People must have rummaged through wardrobes as summer frocks, tops, shorts etc were in abundance.

Summery days.

Caught up there for a couple of hours with Alex, Luke and his wife Jo, Jack, James and us 3.

A couple of hours in we moved to another bar, The Union, where we could talk more easily (that means we were the very oldest people at Pergola).

More time catching up then around 5.00 we 3 headed back to Deptford for dinner and chats.

Not too late a night and today's weather seems a repeat so plans to get out again.
