Anzac Day in London
We were not up for dawn service but had passed to attend the wreath laying at the cenotaph in Westminster. The usual service at Westminster Abbey was not on as Westminster use being tarted up for the coronation.
Fi and I trained and tubed into town and although chilly sun was out. Stepping out at Westminster we were met by Ben.
Just around corner we passed through security and took our place next to Cenotaph.
Just before 11.00 the Royal Marine band marched in with the entourage and after prayers wreaths were laid by Duke of Gloucester, the High Commissioners of Australia and New Zealand then other representatives.
Some more readings then after rousing renditions of 3 National anthems, the entourage marched off.
Feeling suitably patriotic we toddled off into Bond Street for some shopping and lunch. Needed a sweater as still cool here.
After that Fi and I had our first ride on Elizabeth line, and made our way back. Mandatory stop at Dog and Bell then home to prepare dinner for Leann.
Will see what today brings.
